With Prenatal Pubic Pain, the pubic symphysis in combination with the two sacroiliac are the three joints that compromise the pelvic ring where the baby must descend through the birthing canal. The pubic symphsis needs to increase in width and anything that either inhibits this or leads to instability at this area can trigger pain here.
Excessive anterior pelvic tilting can lead to too much tension on the pyrimidalis muscle leading to pain at the pubic symphysis. You may have pain on the inside of your legs. It may be painful to sleep on your side at night. There may be grinding or popping in the area. Getting up at night to go to the bathroom may be very painful. Lack of motion in the sacroiliac joints may lead to excessive movement at the PS and cause pain.
